We're joined by Dr. Aditi Paul, researcher and professor specializing in online relationships and modern relationships. (5:00) We talk about how the language we use influences how we think about relationships and vice-versa. (8:00) We get into the data behind the confusing term "hooking up" and what it means to different generations. (12:00) We discuss the data behind what Gen Z is actually looking for: meaningless sex, meaningful relationships or somewhere in between? (19:00) We talk about how we pretend to be in online dating profiles vs. how people actually live their lives - ie. everyone pretending to rabidly love hiking when most of us are hobbyless potatoes most of the time. (26:00) I ask her my burning question - how real is Euphoria based on the data?? More specifically, how real is the sex and drug-induced haze that TV portrays for today's youth? (31:00) Finally, we discuss the #1 dating fear of Gen Z and the lack of progress on the orgasm gap or the differing levels of pleasure that men, women and non-binary folks are getting from their hookups.

We're joined by Lex Niko to try to make sense of what we all witnessed this past week. First, we get personal and talk about our shared love of all things woo-woo, then (24:50) we get into the topic that got everyone talking - the Oscars. Yes, we share our thoughts on the slap. Yet we also share our dismay at all the topics that have been ignored in lieu of speaking about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock, including Venus & Serena Williams, a win for Questlove and the 3 female comedians that hosted the evening.
(39:50) We also discuss the other notable moments of the night, namely Lauren Zima v. Angus Cloud and Lauren Zima v. Tiffany Haddish, Julia Fox creating a new meme with every word spoken and Beyonce opening the show with new music.
(55:00) We talk about the lack of difference between watching reality tv and pro sports.
(58:00) We talk about our shared favourite show and ask the listeners to take a long hard look at your self in the mirror if you're not already watching - Summer House.

(32:30) early 2000s reality tv including The Swan and Joe Millionaire (remember that?!) and the show I Wanna Marry "Harry"
(37:30) Elon Musk and Grimes' new baby they welcomed via surrogate, Exa Dark Siderael, bringing Elon's total number of children to 7 along with the theory that he has a fetish for impregnating women.
(46:30) Bella Hadid admitting to some of her plastic surgery, denying others, the inevitable way you'd be screwed up from having Yolanda Hadid as a mom, and the different approaches that nepotism models take like Kendall and Kaia Gerber.
(102:00) Some quick Bravo thoughts; mainly on Summer House, the gateway drug for all non-Bravo watchers

Emily and Sam dive deep into the nefarious world of Hillsong, detailing how it went from a trendy celebrity church to shrouded by allegations of scandal, corruption, and systemic abuse.

(20:50) Then we explore the origins of Hillsong: an Australian export and their first megachurch. (23:00) We explore its image, looking like a trendy nightclub,  turning around the “uncool” image of Christianity and attracting celebs celebs like Justin and Hailey Bieber. (31:50) We discuss Carl lentz and the pastors that act like a facsimile for holy figure while living lives of corruption and hypocrisy. (31:05) We detail all the celebs who are or were once involved in the church; Justin and Hailey, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian Chris Pratt, Vanessa Hudgens, Bono and the Australian prime minister, touching on some blind items about Chris Pratt’s involvement in Hillsong and its dark implications.
(38:00) We discuss Justin Bieber’s questionable and bizarre relationship with leaders Carl Letz and Judas Smith; having no boundaries, Justin temporarily moving in with Carl Lentz. Was Carl Lentz grooming Justin?
(42:10) We discuss their flashy marketing as the “cool hipster church” covering up their subtle conversion therapy operation and Chris Pratt defending their homophobia and include a listener’s bizarre firsthand account of attending a Hillsong women’s conference.
(101:00)  Content warning: one member's claims of SA at the church - (103:15)
(1:04:00) From the ashes of Hillsong, Churchome has risen; who’s on the board of directors of the "newest, coolest celebrity church" including the Kardashians, Ciara, and Lou Taylor and current members Justin and Hailey.

In this bonus episode unlocked from the Patreon archives, Sammy P and Emily Rose read, in his own words, the opinions and thoughts of one John Mayer on the many topics he has spoken about. This includes, but is not limited to, the women he's slept with, gay people, race. All interviews we quote from are from when he was in his 30s and older. For Emily, as someone who used to be a fan until she knew too much, she's here to make up for lost time and this man out to dry.

This week on a solo episode, join Emily for a light foray into the world of celebrities that started their own churches, cults and religions cults and those who were unfortunately born into them.
We start by talking about Emily's religious background, along with all the benefits and neuroses gained from that (4:47). We debate, what makes it a religion vs. a cult? (9:30) Then we get on to celebs that have started cults and churches of their own -
(11:45) Jared Leto's yearly retreat/white robed cult?
(15:00) Kris Jenner's church that she founded and still quietly runs today
(19:02) Mel Gibson's terrifying sounding Catholic cult/convent

(28:20) John Lennon's chill sounding vegetarian cult
(29:50) Michelle Pfiefer briefly joining Breatharianism

On this episode of Keeping Up with the Biebers, Emily Rose and Sammy P delve at long last into the murky timeline of Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin Bieber's tryst-turned-marriage. Selena Gomez, much to Hailey's chagrin, is mentioned throughout because she is, of course, a key player throughout their timeline. We go back to Justin's roots in humble ol' Ontario, Canada to talk about the trauma he endured throughout his troubled childhood. It becomes clear this has led him to where he is today, a 'born again Christian' but still plagued by rumours of infidelity and mistreatment of his wife, Hailey.

Lauren of The Zen Blonde and I sit down to gossip about pop culture; but first we spent some time discussing our pursuit of the meaning of life. We talk about our shared history of going off the deep end in our youth and immersing ourselves in spiritual practice for years, emerging with some pretty unique perspectives on our experiences from temporarily becoming a monk to spending weeks on end in silent meditation. I told you we contain multitudes in this house.

Pop culture gossip starts at 38:15
- where we talk about the Royals and their many coverups. We wrap up our thoughts on the season of Euphoria and ask, what is the difference between a tv show like this, porn and art? Is it the intention behind the project that defines it? What are the intentions of show runners Sam Levinson and executive producer Drake? Then, the Kanye of it all. Who decides who is crazy? What makes a label stick to a celeb while others continually get redemption arcs? We talk about celebs who can't shake off their label of being controversial like Azealia Banks and celebs who should have had that label stick to them longer like Armie Hammer who has bounced back a little too quickly from his cannibalism scandal.

By popular demand, here is our deep dive into one of the most divisive and talked about couples in Hollywood, Dax Shepperd and Kristen Bell. We explore their fights, scandals, why some people love them and why so many people love to hate them.
We ask; is there a difference between twin flames and a couple that just argues constantly? What purpose does "radical honesty" serve? Do they hate each other? More specifically, does Dax resent Kristen? And finally, is Dax's approach to relationships and communication radically honest or just a rebranded pseudo-psychology version of toxic masculinity?
